Frequently Asked Questions

What is Solandris?

Solandris is a way to display information using light—colors hidden in craftsmanship. It’s an alternative to omnipresent touchscreens and diving into complex menus. Discreetly displayed data about the weather, calendar reminders, and much more. Simple answers to simple questions: “Will it rain today?”, “Is trash collection tomorrow?” All it takes is a single glance.

Is my data safe?

We take security very seriously. First, we do not collect any data beyond what is essential for your devices to function. Second, we use only encrypted communication protocols like HTTPS and TLS. Third, passwords and API keys are stored as hashes (making it impossible to retrieve the original values). Fourth, your data source configurations are stored in encrypted form, with keys kept securely 😊.

How can I get a registration key?

At this stage, we’ve limited the ability to create accounts. If you’d like to use Solandris, please contact us at: contact@solandris.com

How does all this work?

Solandris periodically fetches data from the Internet using data sources that you configure. The data are transformed into information about colors (one or more) and the type of transitions between those colors. This information is then sent to your device.
